Lake of the Woods, on the eastern limit of the North American Central Flyway is a pristine area is dotted with lakes, rivers and marshes.

Wild rice grows commonly in most local marshes and provides great feasting for northern flocks on their way to warmer climes.

Because these northern birds have not yet had any hunting pressure at this early stage in their trip south, the birds are large and healthy.
